Old School Ral Partha D&D Dungeon Party #3

Another band of bold adventurers set off from The Keep on the Borderlands or Hommlet or Salt Marsh in search of the Caves of Chaos or the Temple or the Lizard Man Mound or wherever.  Again, they are all old Ral Partha sculpts and at least mostly Tom Meier...
A very Nordic looking fighter and a female thief make up the first two members of our intrepid band...
Stalwart Norseman, Axe in hand, ready for Giant Spiders or Trolls or God knows what to emerge from the trees...
A female footpad flits noiselessly from shadow to shadow along the forest path...
A female fighter and a cleric stand ready to lay into the monsters of the forest with hard strokes of sword and flail...
Doubtless a devotee of some fierce cult stressing blood and fire, the Cleric calls up the powers of his vengeful God to support his companions and smite their foes...

A cold shield maiden of the far north, journeying far from the frigid wastes of her distant homeland...

Lastly, a barbarian son of the far, forest clad mountains and an enchanter of the broken hills...

Tried so hard not to screw up the eyes but couldn't quite pull it off in the end.  He still looks ok on the table top...
Resolutely standing watch over tenantless ridges and mountain tops he calls home, frequently blasting them with fiery spells and always on the watch for the killer rabbit who haunts those lonely peaks, an Enchanter has joined the party to act as their magic user...
There are some who call him...Tim??

Deep in the trackless wilderness, our heroes cross paths with the evil cleric known only as the Zombie Master, who calls up his shambling, lifeless minions to destroy them!  Will they survive??

Old School Ral Partha D&D Dungeon Party # 2

Another gang of Fortune seekers soon to be eaten by Bugbears, most likely.  Not nearly as happy with this group as I was with the last one, somehow they just didn't come out as well but whatever.  They are as finished as they are ever going to get...

The Cleric.  Saintly looking fellow.  Probably spends a lot of his time casting healing spells on the knuckle headed glory seekers who accompany him.  He looks good on the table top, but in the photo his blotchy pupils really stand out which makes me cranky.
I am pretty pleased my my Dwarf thief here...
...as he draws his sword, preparing to defend his rightfully stolen loot.

Fighter type prepares to do some hacking...
"Have at you!"
A rather dashing and mysterious magic user

An angry looking female fighter-thief...or perhaps a ranger makes ready to whack somebody or something with her quarterstaff...

Dwarf again and a female fighter.  I liked the fighter figure but I had to battle long and hard with her face and eventually lost.  Numerous attempts at fixes just sort of layered up so it looks like she has lots of scars.
Arrghh.  Her face is a bit messed up now, but maybe that'll happen when you carry an axe around looking for fights.
My collection of adventurers so far...not a bad selection, but naturally I need more!

...And, of course, some Bugbears to eat them!

Old School Ral Partha D&D Dungeon Party #1

Swords Against Darkness! Having just met at the local tavern, a party of adventurers decide to set out for The Caverns of Chaos or The Caves of the Unknown or The Palace of the Silver Princess or The Lost Caverns of Tsojcanth...
...or wherever.  Let's wish them luck.  I've been wanting to build parties of adventurers for skirmishy, dungeon crawl games for a long time.  Years back, I tried to get started with Grenadier minis from the same period but it didn't really work out, so I've shifted to some of the very first minis I was ever exposed to as a youngster, the early Ral Partha figures of Tom Meier, Julie Guthrie and Dennis Mize.
These minis were more challenging for me than normal 'cause they're so darn small.  This guy was going ok until I started on the shield.  The shield was an experiment, an attempt to do some freehand stuff, which I never do 'cause I suck at it, also an attempt to do an old school looking Warhammery shield, but it doesn't suit the figure, really.  Maybe its a shield he took off a dead Orc.
Dwarf and Cleric...
Thief and a Fighter-Magic User.  I like how the thief came out, but I kept screwing up the F/MU's eyes and tried over and over to re-do them 'til the paint caked up and now he looks like a mutant.
I am a bit pleased with how the Sorceress came out...
Nice figure...
A nice detail is the face carved on her staff.
A brought a bunch more of these with me and should have three or four more parties finished by the time I get home.  I brought a few monsters for them to fight too.
'Huzzah!  We're off!'

You meet in a tavern...
